Seniors Captain Match Reports 2023

Results of Seniors League Matches

The first match was played in glorious spring weather at Gerrards Cross. Berkshire won 5 -2 Results
The match V Oxfordshire was played at Ellesborough. The weather was very windy and cold. The match was drawn but the weather nearly beat the players.

Match v Hampshire County

The team made the journey down to Romsey Golf club to play Hampshire Senior Ladies. The day was much warmer and a lovely day was had. Local knowledge of the course definitely helped. The result was a creditable draw.

Match vs Hertfordshire

The last league match of the season was played on another cold day at Welwyn Garden City Golf Club against Hertfordshire. Again local knowledge was an advantage on this tight course. The result was a win for Hertfordshire 4 ½ to 2 1/2 .

Seniors Friendly V Middlesex

The seniors’ friendly match against Middlesex was played on Monday 3rd July at Ellesborough Golf Club. The weather was again challenging with balls moving on the green and heavy showers. Thank you for Kadda Mohamed who challenged 2 players from the opposition due to a late withdraw of a Bucks player. The match was halved.

Seniors Friendly V Bedfordshire

The final friendly match of the season was played against Bedfordshire at Pavenham Park Golf Club. The weather was kind, and warm. The course is young with tricky greens.

Thank you to Fiona Moore who played with me, Liz Keens and Jean Garret, Michelle and Jackie Maher, Judy Fitch and Gill Warner who made the long journey. The result was a loss of 3 - 1.

Inter County Team Championships

The Inter County Team Championship was held at Highwoods Golf Club, Bexhill on Sea on 18th September 2023. 10 counties from South East England took part.

The team of Carole Weir, Sue Adams, Susanna Mitterer and Denise Goodacre represented Bucks.

The weather was challenging, but the old course stood up well to the autumnal weather.

Sussex the host county won with Berkshire runners up 1 shot behind. The Buckinghamshire team finished 7th.
